1.
Falling 03:21
How far did you fall? Broken noses and bloody shirts. We used to be so young. What happened to your dull eyes. How hard did you fall? When will I fall?
2.
Lotus Eaters 02:34
The last place you go to Is where you'll remain I’ve tasted a lotus hoping no one would notice that I’m so far away. In the time I have left I welcome forgetfulness since I’m so far away. Dead flowers on your grave.
3.
I’ve been waiting here all the time just to find I’m going nowhere. I’m holding myself back. I’ll never let you drive in the city again. I’m still waiting. Is it time to go? I’m still waiting. Time moves so slow.
4.
We weren’t supposed to worry about what came before. But here we are together on the ocean floor. The watch’s gears are stuck melded together with rust. We feel so lonely, aching and lacking trust. Wait. This isn’t new. It’s just the sort of thing we always do. The earth just keeps on turning Yet we can’t fall asleep Because we’re overthinking everything we’ve seen. When we stop breathing I hope nothing remains. Absolutely nothing. I can’t do it again. Wait. This isn’t new. It’s just the sort of thing we always do.
5.
When I close my eyes, I want to feel alive.
6.
It’s never enough. There’s so much that I’m thinking of when all I wanted was to feel loved. If nothing else is true, this is all I ask of you.

about

Tobiano is an exploratory project from the members of Overo. In Tobiano, Lindsay, Brendan, Mercy, and John experimented with softer textures, sparser soundscapes, and different songwriting approaches.

The name Tobiano references that the project is a counterpart to Overo . Both words are terms for spotted horses. Overo is the term for a dark horse with white patches, whereas tobiano is the term for a white horse with dark patches. Viewed alone, the two seem to be opposites. But if considered against a broader spectrum - of colors, or in this case, of sounds - it's clear that they are two halves of a whole.
